Halfway through dinner, on our first date,
she looked into my eyes and said:
I want this to be a partnership where we build something.
I want to create worlds together.
And I fell in love with her, a first little bit.
I walked her home along the winding cobblestones,
she kissed me on the creaky porch with a view of the lake,
and we nestled into each other and stared at the stars.
One sec, she said, we forgot something.
She reached into her pocket and fetched the full moon.
And carefully, lovingly, placed it in the night sky, near the horizon, setting.
